How to find the Galaxy Name using a .cab file

SUMMARY

When creating a backup of a galaxy (.cab file), the default file name is the name of the galaxy being backed up, but the name can be modified if desired.

If you are maintaining backups of multiple galaxies with modified file names, it can become unclear which backup belongs to which galaxy.  The process below can be used to determine the name of the galaxy used to create the .cab file.

PROCEDURE

1. Locate the .cab galaxy backup file.
2. Change the file extension from “.cab” to “.zip”.
3. Open the zip file with Windows or a third party tool such as WinRar or 7Zip.
4. Open the _GalaxyInfo.txt file.
5. Locate “GalaxyName=<Galaxy Name>” where <Galaxy Name> is the name of the galaxy from the backup.

6. Change the file extension from “.zip” back to “.cab”
