SUMMARY
It may become useful to have immediate access to outside programs (i.e. Notepad, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel etc.) while developing an application in Wonderware InTouch WindowMaker. This document lists the procedures necessary to add additional programs to the list of applications in InTouch.
APPLIES TO
- AVEVA InTouch HMI
PROCEDURE
- First, open InTouch WindowMaker (Start -> AVEVA InTouch -> WindowMaker). Once WindowMaker is open, make sure the Classic View menu is visible. Within the “Tools” menu, expand “Applications” to see a list of available quick launch applications.
- Right-click on “Applications” and select “New“.
- This will open the “Application Properties” window. In the name field, type the name that will be displayed in the list of applications within InTouch. If you do not know the command line access to the program, then you can then click on the ellipse button to graphically navigate to the program (for the purpose of this document we will manually navigate to the program).
- After you click the ellipsis button an “Open” window will appear. Navigate to the program (we are using “notepad.exe”), select once to highlight it, and then click “Open“.
- This will paste the necessary path to the program in the “Command Line:” text field. Select your desired “Start Style” and when finished click “OK“.
- You should now be able to see the program under your list of program shortcuts under “Applications“. You can double click the icon to launch the application, or right click the icon for a list of options.
