In the pursuit of a net zero economy, the hydrocarbon processing industries are under enormous pressure to quickly launch and scale up innovative technologies. Carbon capture, bio-based feedstocks, circular chemicals – we need them all now and we need them all big. This webinar will feature a case study of Airbridge’s new CCUS technology that transforms carbon emissions into essential global commodities. Airbridge’s story demonstrates how simulation and digital transformation enable process innovation for sustainable industries. With a high-fidelity process simulation as the foundation, engineers can understand process behavior, scale up quickly and quantify performance. Accurate, accessible data leads to confident investment decisions in a fast-moving market.

Roy Calder
Industry Principal, New Energies
AVEVA
A graduate chemical engineer from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow I have been working in the industry for almost forty years with almost twenty of these in South Africa.
As Industry Principal – New Energies at AVEVA my focus is on identifying industry trends in the area of Energy Transition that our industries are focusing on today. This includes aspects of sustainability such as hydrogen and biofuels as well as the circular economy. These identified trends are then addressed in terms of AVEVA’s unique industrial software portfolio covering all aspects of digitalization from simple simulation work all the way though to complex enterprise-Wide engineering and information management systems.
As a graduate chemical engineer my personal focus has primarily been on simulation-based applications such as OTS and RTO but today my role has broadened to the broad product spectrum offered by AVEVA and increasingly my focus is towards digital twins and their applicability in the New Energy area of sustainability.
