About This Release

The Simulator Communication Driver provides simulated data for OPC Client and SuiteLink Client to exercise data connectivity. Specific details can be found in the Communication Drivers Pack Online Help in the SMC.

Simulated data can be generated using the following algorithms:
- Cosine
- None (No Simulation)
- Random
- Random (normalized between 0 and 1)
- Sawtooth
- Sine
- String
- Toggle (On/Off)
- Triangular
Simulation algorithm can be specified on a per item basis
Item Quality returned with each item value can be specified at hierarchy level

Resolved Issues

The following issues are resolved in this release for the SIM Communication Driver.

Defect ID	Case Number	Description
IMS-615057	960008374	VT_I2 data type in OI Server Simulator could not be used in tandem with InTouch when writing back to the OI Server (System Platform Update 3 SP1).
