AVEVA™ Recipe Management 2020 and 2020 Update 1 Patch 1 Readme

About This Patch Release

This patch is required to maintain compatibility between System Platform 2020 R2 SP1 and Recipe Management.

This is to be applied on top of an existing Recipe Management 2020 (4.5.0) or later versions and only with System Platform 2020 R2 SP1.

CAUTION: Use this patch only with System Platform 2020 R2 SP1 and Recipe Management 4.5.0 or later.

Applying the Patch

Prerequisites

Before you apply the patch, ensure the following prerequisite components are installed:

• System Platform 2020 R2 SP1
• Recipe Management 2020 (4.5.0 or later)
  • Recipe Management Server Components
  • Components for ArchestrA IDE

  Note: If Recipe Management 2020 Update 1 (4.6.0) is installed, backup RecMngrPlusWebAPI.zip file located at Program Files\AVEVA\Recipe Management\WebApp.

AVEVA Recipe Management Patch 01 can be applied only after installing System Platform 2020 R2 SP1, and must be applied before opening the System Platform IDE. Do not migrate/upgrade a galaxy that contains Recipe Management content before you apply the patch as unexpected errors might occur.

Important!
- Do not apply the patch to:
-- Recipe Management standalone configuration when System Platform 2020 R2 SP1 does not exist on the node.
-- Versions earlier than Recipe Management 2020 (4.5.0).
- Apply this patch only on the nodes containing both System Platform 2020 R2 SP1 and Recipe Management with Server Components feature or Components for ArchestrA IDE feature (or both features).
- If you Modify/Repair the Recipe Management installation, you must apply the patch again.
- If you configure Recipe Management through Configurator after applying the patch, you must apply the patch again. This is applicable only for Recipe Management 2020 (4.5.0).
- When the patch is applied, all the actions performed by the patch gets recorded in a log file AVEVA_Recipe_Management_Patch_01_log_YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS.txt and can be used for debugging purposes. The log file is available at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ArchestrA\Install.

Steps to apply patch

Follow the instructions below to apply the patch on the node that contains the Recipe Management Server Components and/or Components for ArchestrA IDE feature and System Platform 2020 R2 SP1.

The Configure option is available only when prerequisites are met before applying the patch.

1. Close all the Recipe Management clients.
2. Run the AVEVA Recipe Management 2020 and 2020 Update 1 Patch 1.exe file.

   The patch UI gets launched.

3. Click Configure.

Installing the Patch from a Command Line (Silent Install)

The patch cannot be installed from a command line (i.e., a "silent" install cannot be performed).
