Correcting port numbering
By default, web site port numbers are preserved when migrating from SmartGlance MRC 2014 R2 to SmartGlance MRC 2015, but are not when migrating from SmartGlance MRC 2014 to SmartGlance MRC 2015. When upgrading, please take a moment to review the default recommended port number and adjust it as necessary. In SmartGlance 2015, we suggest port 8081 as the default SmartGlance MRC web site port value. You can select any port number within the Microsoft O/S supported dynamic range of port numbers (between 49152 and 65535).
Using a renamed data provider
If you rename a data provider that is referenced by one or more tags, or by a SQL query in a report, the tags or SQL query in each report will still incorrectly reference the original data provider name. However, it will correctly use the newly renamed data provider as expected.
Renaming a data provider
If you want to rename a data provider, be sure to do the following in order.
To rename a data provider from an imported CSV file
Note: Do not rename the data provider in the CSV file.
Correcting issues related to Internet Explorer 11
After you configure and close the SmartGlance MRC Configuration Utility, the SmartGlance web site opens. In Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, the web site opens automatically in Compatibility View mode. This may cause issues.
To resolve issues with Internet Explorer Compatibility View
Note: There is no compatibility-mode issue in Chrome or Firefox.
For more information on this topic, see: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html.
Correcting screen issues during uninstall process
During uninstall of SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector 2015, you might encounter text overlap or screen flicker if SMC Logger is running.
To resolve this issue
Data Provider Plugins
A separate plugin for the Vijeo Citect SCADA software is included with SmartGlance MRC 2015. From the SmartGlance MRC 2015 downloaded media, navigate to the Data Provider Plugins\Vijeo Citect folder, and review the Vijeo Citect Data Provider for Wonderware SmartGlance User Guide document for further instructions.
Sample Data
SmartGlance MRC 2015 includes sample data for users, groups, reports, and data providers. From the SmartGlance MRC 2015 downloaded media, navigate to the Sample Data folder to find the CSV files containing the sample data.
Using the Wonderware SmartGlance MRC import feature, you can freely import the data contained in these CSV files to help you get started, understand how the product works, or to simply showcase examples of the kinds of report data customers are using with SmartGlance.
To import the sample data, follow these steps in order
You are encouraged to review and modify the CSV file in Excel as you like. If you want to delete the sample data in the SmartGlance MRC web site, hold down the CTRL key to select individual rows or with the top-most row highlighted, click the last row while pressing the SHIFT key to select all rows then click the DELETE button to delete the selected rows in any one or more of the tabs.
Note: The sample data is not meant to actually produce functional reports. Rather, the sample data is provided to illustrate example data, data sources, and report types. It is expected and normal for the sample data to generate errors in the Wonderware System Management Console (SMC).
