FS Gateway 3.0 SP2 incorporates the latest Microsoft C Runtime components and the .NET 4.0 Framework.

Note: 64-bit processor support is provided through the use of Microsoft's WoW64 emulation component.

Note: FS Gateway can be installed on computers running any of the following non English operating systems: French, German, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.

To run FS Gateway 3.0 SP2, we recommend as a minimum the following hardware configuration:

Installation Information

Before installing FS Gateway 3.0 SP2, it is strongly recommended that you exit all Wonderware programs, including executable (.exe) files and services. Detailed installation instructions are included in the DAServer Installation Guide. It is recommended that you read the DAServer Installation Guide prior to beginning the installation process.

In addition to the procedures described in the DAServer Installation Guide, the following installation requirements and other requirements pertaining to the installation and uninstall orders have to be followed.

SR 14413602: FS Gateway is enhanced to use $SYS$Pollnow to perform device updates on a connected OPC Server.

L00125928:

SR 14413527: FS Gateway pokes slower than OPCLink.

L00127624:

SR 14413684: In the FS Gateway version 3.0 user guide and help, the "Demand Read after Poke" option of the OPCGroup Object is not described.

L00127971:

SR 37113120: FS Gateway does not correctly handle an OPC AddItem error per OPC specifications. In this case, it causes stale data with good quality.

L00128439, L00130831:

SRs 37113181, 45110375: If item activation occurs rapidly, items improperly go to bad quality. Data can become stale or have a null value with good quality.

L00129977:

SR 103129999: The connection between FS Gateway the the OPC server is down intermittently.

L00130832:

SR 45110380: FS Gateway supports the retry of the write operation if the write operation fails.

L00131079:

SR 50310020: FS Gateway is enhanced to use $SYS$OPCUpdateInterval to update the update interval of the OPC Server.

L00131822:

SR 22318588: The following error occurs after 256 pokes: "Failed to place item Tags.Int1 on adviseEx on topic ArchestrA_Items."

The FS Gateway documentation set includes the following guides:

  1. FS Gateway User’s Guide. This guide describes how to configure and use FS Gateway.

  2. DAServer Manager User’s Guide. This guide describes how to use the DAServer Manager, which hosts FS Gateway.

  3. Log Viewer User’s Guide. This guide describes how to use the Log Viewer, a utility that provides troubleshooting information about the FS Gateway.

  4. Log Flag Editor User’s Guide. This guide describes how to use the Log Flag Editor, a utility through which you can control the types of messages displayed in the Log Viewer.

Viewing PDF Documentation

The documentation describing how to use this product is included on the CD in PDF format. Viewing these guides requires the installation of the Adobe's Acrobat Reader. This utility is not included on this CD, but it can be downloaded for free from the Adobe Web site at the following Web address:

www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

After downloading the file from Adobe, you must run the executable to install it on your computer. Follow the typical installation routine. After installation, you can either open the Acrobat Reader and select a user's guide from the File menu, or double-click a user's guide on the CD in Windows Explorer.
