Licensing

Intelligence Licensing

This release of Intelligence enforces licensing through the Schneider Electric Licensing system for the Intelligence and concurrent Dashboard Server add-in.

For more information regarding Licensing, see the Schneider Electric License Server Guide available at the following location in the system where Schneider Electric Licensing is installed: All Programs -> Schneider Electric -> Schneider Electric License Manager User Guide.

NOTE: Make sure that you have a new license to install the Intelligence software. Licenses for prior versions of Intelligence will not work for Intelligence 2017 Update 1 (v3.1) release.

Tableau Components Licensing

The Analytics Client (Tableau Desktop) and Dashboard Server (Tableau Server) versions shipped with Intelligence are allowed to access data only from the Intelligence data store and data sources used in the Intelligence model (Drill-down scenario for example). Using the Analytics Client outside of those boundaries is a violation of the license agreement.

The Intelligence software enforces licensing for the Analytics Client through license keys provided by AVEVA, on your license certificate. When you first start the Analytics Client, a software activation window prompts you to enter the license key. The same applies for the Dashboard Server.

NOTE: If you already have permanent activation codes for Tableau software, the same activation codes can be used with Tableau 2018.2 shipped with Intelligence 2017 Update 1 as long as you have a valid Customer First subscription for Intelligence.

Important: Make sure you are using a proper version of Intelligence such as Intelligence 2014 R3 or later when you are using Tableau 2018.1 or above. With 2018.1, Tableau deprecated some of the functions the Concurrent Licensing add-in was using prior to Intelligence 2014 R3.

Resolved Issues

This section describes the resolved issues.

Issue Number

Description

L00147894

User can deploy the undeploy Dimensions without any issues.

L00149698

Error encountered while communicating with the Data Adapter Service on [localhost]\r\n[The socket connection has been disposed.] is resolved and it is possible to deploy Intelligence Model with large amount of data.

L00149832

Some of the Dimension tables were not populated even after you deploy the Intelligence Model successfully and an error is logged in the SMC logger. This issue is now fixed and data is getting inserted in the Dimension tables properly.

L00148721, L00151399

Intelligence Reports was repeatedly encountering timeout issue because the MERGE statement was processing the entire table for each refresh even though the update period is configured

This issue is now resolved by processing only the required period and not the entire table (Dimension table) for each refresh.

L00150937

Measure does not retain the context relationship that is saved because the get latest Dimension Alias is failing when you add same Dimension more than once in Dimension Alias. This issue is resolved now by modifying the logic to get the latest Dimension Alias to make it unique when the same Dimension is added more than once in Dimension Alias.

L00151053

Performance issue is encountered because of a typo in the query. This issue is now fixed.

L00150919

Historian crashes when you create multiple connections of Historian with Intelligence. This issue is now resolved by limiting the user to make only a single connection of Historian with Intelligence.

L00151400

Data source will have duplicate custom queries with same name.

L00151140

Measure data updates are not processed properly based on the modification field. This issue is now resolved.

Known Issues

The following table lists the known issues, listed by their change request number.

Issue Number

Description

L00136275

If you connect to an incorrect Wonderware Historian in the Data Source and then try to connect to the correct Wonderware Historian, the logger continuously logs warning messages that it is still unable to connect to the incorrect Historian.

Workaround: You must restart the Intelligence Data Adapter service to stop the warning messages in the SMC logger.

L00136325

If a measure is undeployed while it is busy processing calculation, the following errors/warnings will be returned in the SMC logger: "ExecuteMeasureBackfill() failed unexpectedly. Retry measure backfill Measure [name of measure]." You can ignore these messages.
