You can use the AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 installer to install the AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 product.

Before installing AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1, the installer installs the following prerequisites:

Note:
- Ensure to install Workflow Management License version 6.0 or later.
- If you are planning to install any application on the same machine that installs earlier version of the above prerequisites, then ensure to install that application before installing Workflow Management 2019.

Installing AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 Add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook

Run AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1-Outlook Add-ins.exe on the 64-bit computer to install AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 Add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook.

Note: The AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 Add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook is supported only for Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, and 2016. Based on the installed version of Microsoft Office, the respective Add-in components will be installed on the system.

Upgrading to AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1

Upgrading Scenarios

You can upgrade to AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 from any of the following version:

Upgrading to AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1

The upgrade will overwrite all files. Ensure to back up all the files you require before the upgrade.

While upgrading Workflow Management Websites, the existing files in all the Enterprise Console site folders are overwritten with the latest files. However, before overwriting, the installer takes a backup of the Actions.xml and SharePointActions.xml files, and the files are saved with .bak extension in the same folder. The Actions.xml and SharePointActions.xml files are available in the following path of Workflow Management installation:

<Workflow Management install path>\WorkflowElements\Default\en-US\Actions\XML

We recommend you to back up the existing files and folders of the previous installation.

If you have customized any page in these folders, compare the pages with the existing pages, and then merge the changes. You must not replace the pages.

Steps to Upgrade

Extract the ISO file of AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1.
Copy AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 executable and "ISSetupPrerequisites" folder from the AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 folder.
Run AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1.exe on a 64-bit computer to upgrade to AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1.
The confirmation message to start the upgrade appears.
Click Yes.
The installer splash screen, and then the Resuming the InstallShield Wizard for AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 dialog box appears.
Click Next.
The Installing dialog box appears.
On the InstallShield Wizard Completed dialog box, click Finish.
Upgrade Manager automatically performs the following tasks:
- Stops the services and Application Pools.
- Deletes the WorkflowManagementTemp and Workflow Management Cache files from the computer.
The Upgrade Manager Wizard appears after the above tasks are completed. For the steps to run the upgrade manager, see Running the Upgrade Manager.

Notes:
- Perform the above tasks manually, if the Upgrade Manager fails to automatically complete any of these tasks. After the upgrade is successfully completed, the Workflow Management services and Application Pools will start automatically. Ensure the user has Administrative privilege and the rights to delete files from the temporary folders.

- If the images do not appear properly in the upgraded Enterprise Console menu, ensure to update the images from the Navigation Details list.

a. Point to admin, and then click Repository Settings. The Repository Settings page appears.

b. Go to Advanced Settings, click Manage Navigation List. The Manage List appears.

c. Edit the ImageName in the NavigationLink Details window of the required Navigation Link item.

- In an IPV6 enabled environment upgrade, set the IPV6 multi-cast IP to enable Enterprise Server functionality.

Business professionals need to know the status of critical processes and make quick decisions on the go. Work Tasks Pro is a premium mobile application for Workflow Management that allows authenticated users to securely access and act upon work items from their mobile phones or tablet devices.

AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 comes with the following new features, enhancements, and changes.

Quickflow

Quickflow helps you to create a system that executes the business logic faster using "micro workflow execution engines" running parallel to the workflow engine.

AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 comes with the following features.

This section lists the other enhancements for AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 release.

Option to configure ArchestrA Identity Manager from the Central Configuration.
Option to configure and call WebAPI from Workflow and Forms using basic authentication or by passing Certificate thumb print.
WebAPI Activity to support various configurable outputs with system variable support.
Active Directory provider verified against Active Directory 2019.
Supports XML Node mapping in Pop-Up and Embed Form controls.
Active Directory user search does not consider disabled users.

Other Improvements

The following are the improvements and issues resolved in the AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1 release:

Security privileges are not considered when users are associated with roles in a cross-domain environment.
The memory consumption increases for task scheduler service over a while for the workflows having Time Trigger activity.
The error message "Error while Getting Node Value from Xml Variable-<SampleFormXML-'skeltamap'> is an undeclared prefix." is displayed while accessing List XML node from the workflow.
When the List Navigator activity gets huge data into List Variable in the workflow, the memory usage of WFEngine increases and the workflow goes into "Execution in Progress" state and fails.
Upgrading the product to Workflow Management 2019 removes the priority settings set using Expressions for Human Activities.
Manager view is not getting loaded in Active Directory Repository.
The scheduled task is not getting executed in the other server when the task is fetched from the server that has gone down while executing the scheduled task.
Menus are not getting loaded when the Enterprise Console URL is accessed on the Application Request Routing (ARR) server.
While creating an Oracle Database Lookup, an error occurs intermittently when the number of rows is limited.
When new users are added to an existing role as Queue participants, Role Refresh is not updating the priority of that role.
DataSource creation with table partitioning enabled, fails in silent mode.
Local variables in activities create orphaned records in the SWRaw table. This results in consumption of high database space.
The redirection feature for the activities in a synchronously executed workflow via a form is not working. This issue is observed when there are two or more redirection enabled activities present in the workflow.
Intermittent error “Could not get the execution context details for execution” is displayed in the environment where Table Partition is enabled with 'Custom Workflow Status Change Provider' calling Context.GetContext.
'End Activity Execution' activity is not getting executed. The execution remains unresponsive until timeout and the workflow gets aborted.
In the Enterprise Edition environment, when one of the Servers is offline, the user is unable to trigger the workflow.
Duplicate items getting listed in Manage Work Items view.
The error message “Could Not Load Assembly” is displayed when Wait for Email activity is executed.
Disabling partition fails on an upgraded environment, where database objects are pointing to Archive Scheme.
Exception notification is displayed for Invoke Form Activity when the work item is assigned to the single user through IN operator.
Unable to fetch Active Directory custom properties from extended information in the Forms.
The form does not get submitted and shows an error “Submission of WorkItem failed for the application.” on selecting multiple workitems of Invoke Form activities from the same workflow with a common form as configured in the Invoke Form activities.
The Read/Write operation fails when the system, where the WorkflowGateway object is deployed, crashes and comes online again.
When a user from parent domain provisions the WorkflowGateway object then the scheduled synchronization throws exception.
The error message "Could not load file or assembly - SE.Bpm.Convertors.dll, Newtonsoft.Json.dll" is displayed when WorkflowGateway object is configured and deployed in an AOS node.
Unable to add a Condition with "Or" option in the Decision activity for multiple conditions.
The Decision activity does not evaluate the conditions, when the condition is changed from Expression Editor to Normal text box mode.
The users could select the Artifact level properties though the Inherit Artifact Type Settings was selected as "Yes".
In OPC UA Extension, the 'Write' tag operation does not support dynamic references.

Known Issues

You might come across the following issues when you work with AVEVA Workflow Management 2019 Update 1:

Entering or editing values in Rich Text control is not supported in Mozilla Firefox browser.
Adding records in Base Form is not supported for Chart, Slider, and Hierarchical List controls.
When Quickflow application is integrated with Workflow Management, the enabling and disabling persistence of exceptions and warnings into the database needs restart of the Quickflow Status Monitor service to apply the changes.
