System Requirements

This section describes the hardware and software requirements necessary to install SAM 3.0.

Computer Access Requirements

You must have administrator-level user permissions on all machines for which you want Wonderware Software inventory. Consult your IT group to complete this task.

Product Compatibility

The Software Asset Manager has been tested and is supported on machines with Wonderware and Citect Software installed on the same computer.

When detecting supported software installed on the SAM computer, SAM does not check for the Admin Username or Password.

CR Number Description Resolution Details
L00141066 SAM - Detect...takes a very long time, and there isn't any user feedback on how long it will take to complete. Resolved: Progress bar and messages are visible in the lower-right corner of the UI.
L00142966 Download Manager: If user performs Pause and Play action multiple times then product not downloads properly and shows file corrupted. Resolved: Pause option is not avaiable.
L00144246 In case Check Connectivity takes a longer time, there is no visual feedback...on how long it will take to complete connectivity (kind of progress bar indication). Resolved: Progress bar and message for Check Connectivity operation is visible in the lower-right corner of the UI.
L00144859 All tabs - The ability to auto size columns based on the information currently displayed. Resolved: Grid panels include configuration options: Filter Record and Auto Align.
L00144898 On Detect operation - String was not recognized as a valid DataTime. Couldn't store in ReleaseDate Column. Expected type is DataTime. Resolved: If you install SAM on a non-U.S. operating system, the timestamp is converted and saved to the U.S. format.
L00144856 Message Viewer - Event Logs and Messages, no obvious way to clear them. You have to purge the Event log. Also, when you get over 100 entries in the Event Log, it just says "100 Event Logs" and stops counting. Resolved: Right-click/Clear
L00144857 Need a UI to filter/export filtered report information. Resolved: Excel-style filter options appear in the column headings.
